Change in management at SOMA GmbH

Johannes Bieling led SOMA GmbH as Managing Director for almost 30 years with great success. In this role, he succeeded in continuously and successfully developing SOMA with solid growth and careful expansion of expertise and business areas. His successor Jan Marmann is now taking over.

Not only his extraordinary technical expertise, but also his foresight, his long-term orientation and, in particular, his leadership and close personal relationships with his employees have contributed significantly to the success of SOMA GmbH over the last three decades.

Johannes Bieling is a prime example of the reliability and technical expertise that SOMA is known for among its customers. As much as we regret that Johannes Bieling is now leaving us, we wish him a retirement in which he can continue to devote himself to his personal interests with health and pleasure.

Former Technical Director Jan Marmann replaces long-serving Managing Director Johannes Bieling

Jan Marmann, who took over from Johannes Bieling on 1 January 2026, also describes Johannes Bieling as someone who "has led SOMA very successfully with clear values, human strength and a genuine passion for engineering and has left a lasting mark on the company."

Jan Marmann took over project management at SOMA in 2020 and also became its Technical Director in 2024. Jan Marmann (38) is a graduate industrial engineer and has two daughters aged six and two with his wife Juliane.

We are certain that Mr Marmann will continue the successful work of Johannes Bieling and further develop SOMA as an innovative and reliable partner. We wish Mr Marmann every success, the support of all SOMA employees and good luck in his new role.
