SOMA Sales Manager Wolfgang Thater appointed to the Executive Committee of the VDE Bergisch Land–South Westphalia Regional Association
Wolfgang Thater, SOMA’s long-standing Head of Sales and Marketing, was officially appointed to the Executive Committee of the VDE Bergisch Land–South Westphalia Regional Association in April 2026. He will therefore also assume responsibility at association level in future and actively contribute his industry experience to the association’s work.
Inspiring young people to pursue STEM careers
SOMA has maintained close ties with the association for many years and welcomes this even closer collaboration. In the past, SOMA has already been part of the regional programme of events, which has included lectures, excursions, working groups and more.
With the appointment of Wolfgang Thater to the Executive Committee of the VDE Bergisch Land–South Westphalia Regional Association, SOMA looks forward to continuing to be part of the interdisciplinary exchange of experience and knowledge transfer within the VDE’s technical and scientific platform.
‘I am looking forward to the opportunity to play an active role within the VDE and to champion our region there. One issue that is particularly close to my heart is inspiring young people to pursue STEM careers,’ says Wolfgang Thater.
The VDE, the Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies, with around 36,000 members, is one of Europe’s leading technical and scientific associations. Its members include engineers, technicians and students, as well as companies from the electrical and information technology sectors and related industries.
