Successful commissioning of the flexAssistant® worker assistance system

An important milestone was reached on 9 April 2024: In a joint project, Soma GmbH and KOSTAL Industrie Elektrik successfully introduced the flexAssistant® worker guidance system to support employees on the INVEOR assembly line.

Thanks to flexAssistant®, the planned production targets can be achieved even with a high number of variants. All processing steps are now transferred directly from SAP as production orders to flexAssistant®, which automatically converts them into efficient workflows.

The main objective of this project was to create a digital representation of the work instructions with the specified sequence of operations for a large part of the production processes at the Hagen plant.  The flexAssistant® was initially installed and used in frequency converter assembly.

The requirements defined in the specifications were deliberately kept general so that the assistance system could also be used in other production areas in the future with little effort.

This modern and flexible system software is a significant step towards modern and flexible production at KOSTAL Industrie Elektrik.
